10/04/20 - Simon Hargreaves - it is with huge sadness that we have to announce the passing of our fabulous keyboard player, Simon Hargreaves, following his brave battle with a long illness. A towering intellect and an insanely gifted musician, Simon joined the band over 15 years ago and we were privileged to enjoy his talent, and even more privileged to enjoy his friendship. Our love, prayers, support and sympathy go to his wonderful partner, Karen. Please raise ‘a large Shiraz’ to a great, great person.
Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Sunday 26th November at Sally's gift shop (Marsdens) on the Market Place in Wirksworth priced £15 - cash only please and a maximum of four tickets per person.

02/09/23 - the next gig is a fundraiser for the Wirksworth Music Centre, a voluntary organisation which supports young musicians in the area. It will be on Friday 10th November at Wirksworth Town Hall. Full details will be available soon.

11/11/22 - this year's Christmas gig is in memory of our old keyboard player and great friend Simon Hargreaves.
Tickets will go on sale at Marsden's gift shop on the old Market Place in Wirksworth at 10am on Sunday 27th November at approx 10am priced £15 NB: cash only so no cards please. Part of the ticket price will be donated to the Wirksworth Community Skatepark fund and we'll be doing further fundraising for the Skatepark on the night of the gig.

21/06/18 - THE WAM BAM BAND'S 20th anniversary event is on Saturday 14th July at Stoney Wood in Wirksworth (just up the road from the Lime Kiln pub). We will be supported by 'The All Star Scratch Band' and the wonderful SKARAMBE. There will be a barbeque and a real ale (and not real ale) bar and the music starts at 5pm and ends at about 11pm. 18/03/15 - the gig in Wirksworth on Saturday is a fundraiser for the Derby County Community Trust. Each year volunteers carry out work at three schools in one of the poorest suburbs of Nakura in Kenya. This includes new construction work, health education and the provision of food and accommodation for orphans who would otherwise be living on the street. 01/01/07 - Well this is the new THE WAM BAM BAND website as LYCOS lost the old one ! ! ! ! ! It has taken a while
to get it together and whilst all of our written history had been lost, Jon Peace has stepped into the breach (?) and
come up with the goods - so to speak. It had previously served us right for having a name that started with "T" !
